Christmas: The Ups and the Downs

Let me just get this out there: I love Christmas. It is by far my favorite holiday. Not because of the presents, but because it really just feels like a great time and everyone is happy. Okay, that probably sounded like the cheesiest thing ever. Let me rephrase: I love Christmas because it makes me feel all warm and bubbly and happy.

I’ll be telling you some more ups and downs as of…

NOW! 🙂

Ups

One of the things I love most about Christmas is seeing the rest of my family. I don’t know about you guys, but we live extremely close to my dad’s whole side of the family, so we get together during Christmas. We usually get together on Christmas Eve and exchange and open presents then so we can see each others’ reactions and things like that.

I also like making a Christmas list. I don’t know why, because I am so ridiculously terrible at making them. I literally spent about five hours last weekend trying to come up with some things to put on my Christmas list. But nevertheless I still like it and I think that it’s really fun to do.

I love going sledding during Christmas break and then coming inside and drinking hot chocolate. Call me a little kid for sledding, but I live on a hill, so we have an awesome sledding slope of a backyard.

I love listening to Christmas songs while decorating the Christmas tree. I don’t know why, but I think that this is one of the best feelings ever. Ever.

I like going Christmas shopping for people’s gifts. I’m only twelve, so I don’t have a whole lot of shopping to do, but I get presents for my parents, my little brother, and the gift exchange that we do on Christmas Eve. This year my cousin on my mom’s side of the family and I are also doing a gift exchange sort of thing where we spend $10 on art supplies and $10 on miscellaneous, and then swap. I already bought her present and I think she’s going to love it. I hope so anyways! Anyways, I need to get back on topic hehehe.

Downs

I don’t mean to sound whiny or anything like that, this is just my opinion and I am here to tell you, not to force you to believe it.

One of the things that I don’t really like about Christmas is that it seems like the holiday has been corrupted. I basically mean that it seems like the holiday went from celebrating Jesus’s birth to getting presents. If only people from that time period could see people on Black Friday trying to buy Christmas present cheaply.

Okay, well that’s the only thing that I don’t really like, so it should probably be called the Ups and Down, but oh well! 😛
Thanks for reading you flabbergasted goose!
